Mi Seguridad: A Mobile App for Reporting Crimes and Seeking Assistance
Mi Seguridad is a mobile application developed by ESTRATEC S.R.L. in line with the Strategic Security Plan of the Buenos Aires Province government. The app aims to provide citizens with a tool to report criminal incidents without the need to visit a police or judicial office.
With Mi Seguridad, users can report various types of crimes, including theft, drug trafficking, police misconduct, domestic violence, gender-based violence, and illegal gambling. The app prompts users to provide personal information (in some cases), details of the incident, and its characteristics. The system records the reported incident and generates a tracking code for users to verify its receipt by the corresponding prosecutor's office.
In addition to reporting crimes, Mi Seguridad also allows users to make emergency calls to numbers like 911 for general emergencies, 107 for medical emergencies (SAME), and 144 for gender-based violence.
Mi Seguridad serves as a convenient and accessible platform for citizens to contribute to the reduction of crime in the Buenos Aires Province. It empowers individuals to report incidents and seek assistance, ensuring a safer community.
